Four Platforms. One Unified Ecosystem.

Digital Sportsman needed more than an app — it needed an entire operating infrastructure for the outdoor guide industry. Teknika designed and built four interconnected products that work as one.

Business management platform for guides and operators

Full mobile access to the business platform, on iOS and Android

Consumer-facing experience search and booking platform

Discover, browse, and book outdoor experiences on the go

Ambition at Scale

Digital Sportsman came with an ambitious vision: a fully integrated platform covering every aspect of running and growing an outdoor guide business — from bookings and marketing to AI automation and consumer discovery.

Teknika was brought in as the core product team, designing and building the full system, planning development and roadmap, execution across four platforms.

Design that translated the vision

Teknika's design team translated a complex, multi-platform product into a cohesive visual experience across web, marketplace, and two mobile apps.

Full-stack ownership

One team handled UX/UI, frontend, backend, mobile, and AI — eliminating integration risk and keeping the product coherent across every platform.

Disciplined delivery

Teknika followed a rigorous Agile process throughout: requirements gathering, mockup approval, detailed backlog, two-week sprints, and incremental delivery aligned to client priorities.

16 complex modules

The business platform alone covered 16 distinct operational areas, from booking and accounting to AI automation and resource management.

01 | The Business Command Center

The web app was the heart of the platform — a full back-office for fishing guides, hunting outfitters, charter captains, and outdoor operators. 16 modules covering everything a guide needs to run and grow their business, accessible from any device.

Booking & calendar management

Proprietary customizable booking calendar with client management, scheduling, and availability control built specifically for outdoor operators.

Client management

A full CRM layer for managing customer profiles, booking history, communication logs, and relationship details across the guide's entire client base.

Accounting & financial dashboard

Revenue tracking, payment processing, and financial reporting tailored to the needs of outdoor experience businesses.

Resource management

Manage boats, equipment, and physical assets — with availability tracking, deactivation states, and assignment to specific experiences or time slots.

Digital waiver system

Guides upload their legal documents; clients sign digitally at the time of booking. No paper, no friction, full compliance on every trip.

Property management

For operators with cabins, lodges, or land, the platform handled accommodation listings, room pricing, and availability alongside experience bookings.

Rentals management

Operators can list and manage rentable equipment — boats, gear, vehicles — with pricing tiers, availability calendars, and booking flows integrated into the main platform.

Messaging system

In-platform messaging keeps guides and clients connected from initial inquiry through post-trip follow-up, with full conversation history in one place.

02 | Marketing & Growth Tools

Running a successful guide business isn't just about delivering great experiences — it's about filling the calendar, keeping clients coming back, and standing out in a competitive market. Teknika built a suite of marketing and growth tools directly into the platform.

Social media post builder

Guides create and schedule social media content from within the platform, with built-in templates and brand customization — no third-party tools required.

Marketing templates

A library of pre-built templates for common guide business needs, ready to customize and deploy across email, social, and direct outreach.

Embedded booking widget

For guides with existing websites, a fully branded booking flow embeds directly into their site. Customers discover, select, and book without ever leaving the guide's own domain.

03 | A Platform That Evolves With the Business

The most forward-looking component of the Digital Sportsman platform was its AI layer — built not as a surface feature, but woven into the core of how the business operates. AI reduced the operational burden on guides so they could focus on what they do best.

AI-powered virtual assistant

Guides interact with their business through simple chat commands. Book a client, check availability, pull business insights — the AI handles scheduling and details instantly.

AI dashboard & reporting

Real-time business insights surfaced through an intelligent dashboard, giving operators visibility into performance, trends, and opportunities without manual reporting.

Photo & video gallery

Guides upload trip photos and videos that populate their experience listings and shareable client galleries, with built-in cropping and media management tools.

Weather integration

Live weather data integrated directly into the platform, giving guides and their clients up-to-date conditions relevant to their specific activities and locations.

04 | The Consumer Experience

For adventure seekers, Digital Sportsman was a marketplace for the outdoors. Discover fishing charters, hunting trips, and outdoor experiences — search, browse, compare, and book from web or mobile.

Consumer mobile app

Browse, save, and book experiences on iOS and Android. Manage upcoming and past bookings, communicate with guides, and access trip details on the go.

Consumer web app

A fully responsive web experience for discovering and booking outdoor experiences from desktop or mobile browser, with the same core functionality as the native app.

Experience marketplace

Search by location, activity type, date, and group size. Results displayed on both map and list views, with detailed experience pages covering inclusions, what to bring, pricing, and guide profiles.

Saved experiences

Users can save experiences they're interested in without committing to a booking — building a personal shortlist for future trips.

Post-trip photo gallery

Guides upload photos from completed experiences, which are shared with participants and can be saved or shared with friends — extending the brand beyond the trip itself.

Become a guide flow

An in-app onboarding path for consumers who want to list their own experiences — covering license verification, insurance document upload, experience setup, and submission for review.

Rainey's Marketplace

A client with an online clothing rental business desired to scale her business by implementing a peer-to-peer (P2P) platform to reduce inventory overhead as well as being the bottleneck for distribution.  Not to mention giving mom’s across the country the ability to generate income by “monetizing their closet.”

Teknika built a web platform to facilitate this platform and streamline all steps of the transaction such as ratings, disputes, moderations, shipping, taxes, refunds, etc. - all with a intuitive interface flow for users.

NDA - Corporate training and compliance opportunity engine

A fortune 100 company had a legacy software system that they used to identify certification and capabilities gaps in their client company's IT staff that was preventing them from being eligible/compliant for complex projects.  This system was plagued with technical debt causing unacceptable down time and bugs for their users.
Teknika’s team was brought on to overall the maintenance and feature evolution regime for the project by implementing development and quality assurance best practices.  In parallel, we did a complete technical review of their software and identified the highest priority technical debt to refactor to increase stability and maintainability.

Grunt

Grunt approached us in a crisis, their previous development company had promised the moon yet could only deliver excuses - not a functional application.
Teknika partnered with Grunt to now only takeover development responsibility, but also serve as technical leadership for their company. We triaged their existing codebase and determined that it had so many fundamental flaws that we could build it faster and better from scratch.  We quickly mocked up the application and determined UX flows that would greatly enhance both the user experience and the backend management of the app.  With full alignment on the mockups, we developed a cross platform mobile application and web admin under tight timeline constrains. We continue to support this application.

Waffle House

The director of marketing for Waffle House engaged Teknika due to concerns that their mobile app was far behind their competitors with regard to functionality, user experience, and aesthetics.

Teknika did a comprehensive UI/UX analysis of their existing application.  After identifying and noting dated or unintuitive aspects of the design, we generated mockups of an improved application with regard to both user experience (UX) and aesthetics (UI).

To assist stakeholders at Waffle House, we organized these changes into Before and After arrangement that concisely explained problems we identified, improvements we implemented and reasoning behind it.

Agents Paid AI

The real estate industry is notoriously behind on technology and heavily reliant on repetitive work by real estate agents.  A client with a successful brokerage engaged Teknika to implement their vision for increasing agent efficiency and solving their major pain points.
Teknika architected a solution that utilized several AI tools to gather information in an agent’s workflow and process, behind the scenes, serving as a technological co-pilot for a busy agent.
From the beginning, the project was designed for a longer term AI data play that could use the gathered data on agent activity to train and LLM to provide data and analysis valuable to other parts of the real estate industry.
